Cheap Eats under $10 in the Bity.
Located in Little Saigon, this place is straight to the point. $5 sandwiches with $4 iced Vietnamese coffees. First time coming here.
This place blew me away, not because the roast chicken bahn mi was 5/5 and was packed out with flavor, ingredients and value. It was the amount of time it took them to prepare my order, while others were in line waiting to place an order, or waiting for their placed order. It took the nice aunties 3 minutes, I kid you not 3 minutes to get my food and coffee. I saw how many people were inside before me, and usually I can get impatient when waiting in line or seeing how many people are gathered around; but they were taking care of everybody's order all in a matter of under 5 minutes. That's impressive, considering this is a hole in a wall spot with not enough space inside to have a lot of people in there at once. It's located in the Tenderloin so stay on toes and vigilant if you're not from here like always. Place was absolutely gas, and will definitely keep coming back. And like always, don't be weird and rush the aunties. They're hard working, and deserve a lot of love for how much love and hard work that goes into pumping out orders and serving the community.
This place is cash only! I thought all sandwiches were $5 but they seemed to have updates their menu/prices.
I got the ba chi cha pate ($7). It was fully worth the $7. She stuffed it! My only comment is that it didn't have any cucumbers in it - only the daikon radish/carrot.
I was visiting from out of town and I guess this place is located in Little Saigon of SF. But it's also located in a not so safe area....
Best BAHN MI HANDS DOWN!!!!! Wow!!!! CASH ONLY !!! 5.00$ exact!!!!! My husband and I ordered the roasted pork Bahn mi and is was super delicious!!!!!! For ONLY $5.00 you can't beat that! Now it is in a neighborhood surrounded by crack heads and homeless but they don't bother you. The service was amazing and QUICK!!!! Received our food is 4 minutes!!! Ambiance is a small little shop no dine in!
Best $5 I've spent on a Vietnamese sandwich. If you're in town, go. Oh and they also have Vietnamese iced coffee!
Love this hole in the wall sand which shop--great banh mi! I got the pork and it was amazing flavor with fresh veggies. All around delicious. Quick service and great portions for a low and fair price. Just remember, it's cash only. Can't wait to go back!
Best banh mi and you can't beat the prices. My friend and I took our sandwiches to go and ate down the street. Our sandwiches were literally turning heads. One man asked us for directions to the restaurant and another stopped to mention how amazing Saigon Sandwich is. Hopefully I can come back when I visit SF again :)
You don't come to Saigon Sandwich founded in 1981 and the neighborhood for ambiance, you are here for one of the best tasting and value #BanhMi sandwiches in San Francisco.
I arrived before 9am Saturday to avoid parking issues, but if you come with a friend they can circle the block while you pick up an order.
As for service it's simple, polite, and should be uncomplicated, in my case an order of a Roast Chicken minus the Jalapeño. Pay in Cash, and Tax is included via the pricing. What you get are some the tastiest BanhMi in San Francisco.
I like all of their sandwich combinations but the Roast Chicken is consistently my favorite.
Been coming here for Decades, and hope for many more visits in the future.
The best banh mi in SF and it's only $5 each near the Civic Center. Whenever I go to the Asian Art Museum, I stop by to pick up lunch and enjoy it sitting outside.
This is a hole in the wall type of sandwich spot, but by no means does this take away the high quality, delicious sandwiches they are serving up. I got the special combination and it was out of this world, cost $7, what a bargain. The lady making it, had it in my hand in less than a minute.
Yummy, its like the old fashion buns I had five combos made and took them to San Leandro and Stockton. If in neighborhood will buy even more. love the pate and filling. Can't find anything like this in San Leandro.
